Sister Club: Pirelli FC to attend Durham WFC v’s Man Utd

Part of being an Official Sister Club to Durham WFC, each club is invited to a game, as guests of the Club, where players are able to get closer to the action by being club mascots and ball girls during the game. This year, we have been allocated the Manchester United WFC on Sunday the 9th of December.

The Pirelli FC players meeting the Durham WFC first team

This season, we will be taking our U8’s Girls and U12 Girls teams to attend the match where they will no doubt enjoy an entertaining match between two undefeated sides so far this season. Man United are still yet to concede a goal this season. The two teams recently shared the points in a thrilling draw at Leigh Sports Village with Durham’s Hannah Reid saving a United penalty to keep the scores level.

As well as the internationals playing for the home side, the visitors will be fielding several capped England players, two who are in Phil Neville’s current England squad to face Australia at Fulham’s Craven Cottage.

Last season, the players and parents from out girls section headed across The Pennines to watch Tottenham Hotspurs to kick off the season and then attend the soccer festival and our Sister Club day against Aston Villa on the same day. Unfortunately, the later was postponed due to the bad weather and we didn’t get our chance to lead the players out onto the field. Durham WFC more than made up for it by bringing the first team players to meet the Pirelli FC players and to get a chance for an autograph and a selfie.

We will be providing further details of our trip over to Durham WFC at the individual training sessions over the coming weeks.
